Our little farmstand at 47 Lawrence Rd

Living the country life gives us many projects to continue and try out. The latest is micro-greens. Taste, nutrients, the love of fresh veggies, and the inability to sit still for long motivated us to start growing them.

Matt has been tapping trees and making syrup shortly after he began to walk. He made his own evaporator at seven on a Coleman stove! If you’ve been to the Topsfield Fair, he’s the one who built and set up the original sugarhouse years ago. His locations and equipment may have changed, but his skills and his syrup are still top-notch with best practices and integrity in every drop.

Our little farm stand at the end of the driveway has syrup, wood bundles and fresh eggs. Everything that we sell at the stand is on the honor system. Don’t be surprised to see other things items pop up either, one year of a surplus of zucchini and we’ve been known to chainsaw carve a pumpkin or two out of poplar.

Pumpkin Carvings

In the summer we are generally around the property in one of the greenhouses watering and weeding, splitting wood or bundling wood, or stacking wood in the sugarhouse or the shed for our outdoor furnace. Things are fairly simple around here…
